Gaurav Bhatia Targets Rahul Gandhi, Alleges Foreign Links to Opposition Protests
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia targets Rahul Gandhi over opposition protests concerning SIR and the Chief Election Commissioner, alleging foreign links involving Progressive International, George Soros and organisations across nine countries.
Bhatia further alleged that the model of anarchy and treachery being pursued by Rahul Gandhi had links abroad. Referring to media reports, he claimed that developments in France and the change of government there were linked to 101 organisations spread across nine countries, with connections extending to India as well.
Bhatia Alleges Rahul Gandhi's Links With 'Indian Alliance in Paris'
Bhatia said the protests were merely a pretext and that the opposition's actual objective was to create chaos. He referred to the 'Indian Alliance in Paris', which he described as one of the organisations involved in fomenting disorder.
According to Bhatia, when Rahul Gandhi was allegedly creating unrest, the 'Indian Alliance in Paris' became his “right hand” on October 6. He claimed that the organisation was the first to post a tweet in support of Rahul Gandhi.
Bhatia alleged that the organisation engaged in anti-India activities, interfered in India's internal affairs and made baseless criticisms of Indian democracy. He further claimed that the organisation had links with Progressive International.
Bhatia said Progressive International was connected to 10 Janpath, where its representatives met Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi on April 28, 2025. He added that Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party had themselves posted about the meeting.
BJP Spokesperson Accuses Progressive International of Spreading Global Anarchy
Bhatia also alleged that developments in France, Spain, India and Albania were connected to Progressive International. He claimed that the organisation's objective was to bring about changes of government around the world.
“Does Rahul Gandhi no longer have the strength to act on his own, that he is seeking the support of this organisation?” Bhatia asked, describing the groups as a “global chaos group”.
His allegations linked the opposition's domestic protests to what he portrayed as an international network seeking political upheaval across multiple countries.
Bhatia Links Sanjay Raut's Post on Albania to Alleged Plans to Create Disorder
Referring to a post shared by Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on X, Bhatia displayed an image of Albania's Supreme Court building engulfed in flames. He alleged that the image indicated an intention to create anarchy in India and claimed that the people involved had links with George Soros.
Bhatia said India's honour was associated with Parliament and the Supreme Court. He accused Rahul Gandhi of creating disorder on the premises of the Supreme Court and recalled Prime Minister Narendra Modi's remarks on Dussehra, which, according to Bhatia, described these individuals as anarchic.
He contrasted what he described as the Prime Minister's efforts to strengthen constitutional institutions with the alleged attempts of certain people to undermine them.
Bhatia Claims Rahul Gandhi Is Seeking Guidance From George Soros
Bhatia claimed that Rahul Gandhi was currently in Vietnam and alleged that he was asking George Soros and others what steps should be taken. He further accused Rahul Gandhi of discussing regime change, asserting that the people of India would remove him and his political allies instead.
Bhatia also referred to Rahul Gandhi's meetings in the United Kingdom with Jeremy Corbyn, whom he accused of not recognising Kashmir as part of India. He additionally mentioned Ilhan Omar and Mushfiqul Fazal, whom he associated with Jamaat-e-Islami, while referring to Rahul Gandhi's meetings with them.
The BJP spokesperson's remarks placed the opposition's protests over SIR and the Chief Election Commissioner at the centre of a broader political confrontation, with Bhatia alleging foreign connections and attempts to destabilise institutions. These assertions were presented as allegations by the BJP spokesperson during the press conference
